There are certain things that keep coming up in sPvP that everyone can continue to improve on. Instead of leaving a comment post somewhere where it will get burried, I figured they should be cumilated into a common, logical spot.

1) Communication

This has been covered in the http://forums.intoth...-intro-to-spvp/ . But it can always bee improved.

a) Whenever there is a lull in fighting, ask who is where, how many are nearby etc. It is important to have a sense of location. This can also swing battles.

B) Call out when and where you are about to go down. Not, "I'm down, rezzing in 5" because we can't do anything, and not *silence* because even though we should be aware, we aren't ready. If you call it out, we can get on top of you and be ready. Rezzing can swing a battle. Also call out that you are rezzing, so the downed person can CC.

c) Try to call out where you see people going and class. Call out where you are going, what you are doing. If it changes, say it.

2) Focusing

I really dislike how a team only gets 1 target. It should have an AOE of who sees that target, so you can have one at WF and one at GY etc...but...

a) While it might make sense to designate a targeter, it wouldnt be effective. They could go down, target doesnt go up etc. The better way I think is to go over the progresion, and let people who feel comfortable call targets. Always verbally reinforce your target, or if you cant put up a target, verbally reinforce it.

B) Target priority - Depends on team comp and spec, but usually...

warrior-> thief -> mesmer-> ele ( assuming not staff, if staff, later in the list)--> necro--> engi-->guardian.

If a enemy is particually squishy, they can move up in the priority.

c) Bursting - I am a big fan of calling "bursting in...3...2...1". Not only does it facilitate teamwork, but it is extremely effective. If we are all doing our own thing on a target, we are really trickling in dps. While they probably cant handle 3 focusing on them, 3 bursting is nearbly impossible to negate. Try to time your attacks as a team, instead of playing as individuals.

3) Stomping / Rezzing

This is EXTREMELY important. You could down 3 enemies, only to have a teammate stomped and they all get up. FAIL! That being said, stomping is a very unpredictable part of a fight. As the enemy could go for the rez, CC the stomper, or mix, which is complicated by how many people are in the fight.

a) We do not need 3-4 people stomping 1 enemy. Call who is going for the stomp. There may be some situations when you may want a double stomp. If they arent going for the rez, but are CCing, double. But if they are trying to rez, dps the downed and stomp.

B) If you have quickness, it can be useful to pop for a stomp or a rez.

c) Call before you are going down, so everyone can get ready to rez. If you have CC, try to interupt the stomp.

d) If you see the enemy going for a rez, lay down CC, or dps the downed enemy. You might run into someone using a mercy rune, in which case dpsing the downed doesnt work unless many are on them. CC the rezzer

This may be the hardest part of a fight. You have dps'd much of their team, you may be low yourself, you have a teammate down, and enemies down. If they stomp, everyone gets up, you stomp, you get your friend up. It is defientely not a simple task, and should not be overlooked.

I want this to be a living list. If something happens in a match, add it. If you want me to edit something in this original post, tell me. (I need help with the target priority). Everyone is always growing and developing with each match they play, but focus on things you can be improving on to reach the next level of play.

swap the thief and warrior. you're wasting time trying to get your whole team to chase a thief when everyone know he's just gonna stealth lol. He's a good 2ndary target, though. I'd say after warrior-> thief , would be mesmer-> ele ( assuming not staff, if staff, later in the list)--> necro--> engi-->guardian.

Done.

I feel there is so much to say about sPvP skill, but so much of it is more learned from experience as opposed to other methods. And I am still in my infant stages of sPvP, so it feels weird to be posting lessons learned, but I am far more comfortable now with my classes after a few weeks under my belt.

Also another thing when working with teams, Synergy, Getting combo finishers rolling for everyone, let your team know when you are dropping a blast zone ect. Allowing people to get the combo finishers off getting more boons, ect up and going
